This is part 1 of an allegorical satire I am making, called Hail Tyrannia, which explores what would happen if governments treated their people the way some households operate.

For those who do not understand the picture, Martha was pushed into a wall by Liam and her forehead is bleeding. Alyce told her to lie about her injury, and she is anyway embarrassed because she feels they will call her names if she tells the truth, as Alyce always does.

Martha had several goals in mind- to obtain freedom of speech for all the members of her household, to eradicate hypocrisy in her household, and to elevate children to equal status as their Older Siblings Of Humanity. One day, a nonchalant Saturday morning,   Alyce enquired, "What did you do today, Martha?" Eagerly, Martha responded, "I met Genevieve by the river today, and we spoke at length about many interesting matters, such as politics." With complacence seeping out from every word, Alyce angrily responded, "Genevieve? You mean Mrs. Genevieve!" Martha pointedly responded, "No I said Genevieve. That is her name, or you are wrong, Mummy, for I have heard you use it many times." The arrogant Ageist frowned, and then another torrent of rancid prejudice spewed from her mouth. "Mrs. Genevieve is elder to you, and better. You must defer, and call her Mrs. Genevieve. I am her equal, and I can say Genevieve." Liam butted in, screeching "What nerve! To consider yourself equal to your superiors!" Martha's rebuttal came quickly, in a sarcastic version of Liam's tone. "What nerve! To consider yourself superior to your equals!" "Sassy girl!" "Sassy father!" "That does it you are getting no breakfast today!" came the threat of denying a human being's basic needs, to manipulate them into submission, a corruption of power committed by oppressive regimes to silence those they were meant to nourish and protect. This broke Martha's  heart, and, knowing she would never be free to carry out the Rebellion, hindered by cuffs and blows, she unwillingly aquescieced to the regime of the Ageists, begging for forgiveness for being right where wrong is in power.

Savitri sat down at the table with her mother, Genevieve, and Margot, who they were visiting. Genevieve took a sip of her tea, and then posed her query, "What is your opinion of the current African famine?" Margot then smiled and answered, "I believe it is caused by food shortage." Savitri, believing this was false and untrue, retorted, "But Margot, the world's farmers produce food, that, if not wasted, would satiate the world's populace twice over." "Well, it is caused by food shortage in Africa," Margot replied, defending her position. "think it is caused by corruption," added Genevieve. They continued to debate over this, until they all had come to an agreement, and Genevieve and Savitri returned to their dwelling, feeling enriched with knowledge from the discussion.

I am Aparajita Parivartana, a 13 year old girl fighting age discrimination with nonviolence, sisterhood, humour, and reason. These are stories, somewhat like fables, that I have created to personify discrimination, represent the parties that play a role in ageism, and exemplify an ideal society in the aspect of age equality. The characters of these stories are described under "Characters."
